Parking and Transportation

Parking

GSA Subsidized Parking — A limited number of subsidized parking spaces are provided in three campus garages (Washington, McElderry, Caroline or Ashland) for graduate students at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for $55 per month, which is deducted from your paycheck. To apply for a subsidized parking space, please see the instructions below.

Process to obtain subsidized parking:

        1. Fill out the GSA Subsidized Parking Request Form.
        2. Once granted, subsidized parking is valid for 24 months. After that point, you must reapply through the request form.
        3. Indicate your preference for the garages. If you want the first available space regardless of location, list the garages in order of preference. You cannot transfer to another garage once assigned a subsidized spot.
        4. Any questions should be sent to Katie Labor, Coordinator for Graduate Student Experience, at jlabor1@jh.edu

Subsidized Emergency Assistance Parking

OGBE and GSA has a limited number of spaces available to students who are facing a temporary emergency situation such as a medical impairment (i.e. surgery, broken bones) and need assistance with getting to and from campus. Please contact Katie Labor (jlabor1@jhmi.edu) and Kristina Nance (knance2@jh.edu) to see if you qualify for a temporary parking pass.

After Hours Parking — Employees and students may park for free on the East Baltimore campus during “Base Access” time periods:

Monday – Friday, *3:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m.
All day Saturday, Sunday and designated holidays

*NOTE:  Temporary COVID-19 Time Frame until further notice.  The Base Access/free parking time period will revert back to 4:00 p.m. – 8:30 a.m. on weekdays when this temporary measure is lifted.
